DIY Headstart

The Shells has a sophisticated exterior with a pleasant colour scheme that radiates homely vibes. The 4 ply pine wrapped over the frame of the exterior, with vertical lap siding brings out the outer beauty of The Shells better. The galvanized metal roofing protects the house from rainwater leakage and damage from snow fall in the shape of mould and mildew, proving to be an excellent choice of material which is durable and easy to maintain.

The broad structure of the glass windows not only offers functionality but also serves good looks to fit in the exterior’s theme. Windows can offer a multitude of benefits such as bringing in natural sunlight in order to keep the indoors radiant and to save up on the electricity bills. You can also enjoy the outdoor views from the comfort of your home through the windows which also assist in noise reduction from outdoors. Built by the Hummingbird Tiny Housing, this trailer is designed with meticulous attention spared to the foundation, which is why it is built on metal to provide additional strength.

The indoors follow the same color scheme as the exterior which makes the interior appear brighter and bigger. The ceilings have flush mount ceiling lights to keep up with the elegant style of the interior while additionally serving its innate purpose. Open shelves with compartments are affixed on the walls for extra storage where you can stack books, showpieces or even kitchen plants as interior décor items to enhance the ambience of the great room.

The Advantech subflooring is installed in the interior which reflects architectural intelligence as Advantech subfloors are phenomenally strong and last longer than its alternatives available in the market. Based on its high wood density and water resistant properties, this proves to a great option for flooring. The 30 lb. felt used for proper roofing underlayment is comparatively less likely to face the brunt of wear and tear and provides excellent roof protection.

In comparison to the synthetic underlayment, felt proves to be a better option as it also traps more heat because of its black color and keeps the indoors relatively warmer. There is only a single bath and a single bedroom loft where the latter can sleep up to two people comfortably while leaving sufficient elbow room for hassle free movement around the space. The bathroom is equipped with all the basic amenities to suit the needs of two people.
