The Details:

The Cultivated is an exceptional tiny home that maximizes the use of high-quality, non-toxic, no-VOC materials. It's crafted with unparalleled quality and safety, incorporating Sativa Building Systems' Z Panel hempcrete technology as a thermal storage wall. This tiny home is also optimized for off-grid applications with all electric appliances, making it a healthy and safe living space without any compromises. The home features 180 square feet of first-floor living space and a 65 square-foot loft, providing a total of 245 square feet of floor space. In addition, the exterior utilizes hidden fastener steel and Pro Snap steel, minimizing the potential for leaks and ensuring durability.

The walls are made of hempcrete panels that are 11 inches thick. It's great because it helps keep the temperature steady inside by acting as a heat sink. It's also really good at resisting things like mold, fire, rot, and bugs. Hempcrete is also good for keeping humidity levels just right, and it's environmentally friendly.

The kitchen has a sink that's 25 inches long and a fridge that's 24 inches wide with almost 10 cubic feet of space. There's also a small electric stove with four burners that's 20 inches wide. The backsplash behind the counter goes all the way up to the ceiling and is made of ceramic tiles. The countertops are made of maple wood that's been stained with non-toxic dark tung oil, and there's a breakfast bar made of the same material. The cabinets are made of oak and have been painted with non-toxic paint.

In the bathroom, you'll find a large shower with a fiberglass base and glass tile walls, complete with sliding glass doors for privacy. To reduce water consumption, the bathroom also features a Separett Villa 9215 waterless composting toilet, which is environmentally friendly and low-maintenance. The 30-inch wide birch wood vanity provides ample storage and counter space, while the ceramic tile floor is easy to clean and adds a touch of elegance to the space.

The plumbing in the tiny home has been carefully designed to prevent frozen pipes, with no pipes running through the exterior walls. The water heater is a tankless model made by EcoSmart, which is energy-efficient and helps conserve water. The water connection is straightforward and similar to the kind found in recreational vehicles (RVs).

To ensure longevity and a healthier living environment, the tiny home uses high-quality, solid pine shiplap for its walls and ceiling, which is less prone to mold and more durable than other materials. The baseboards, casements, and corner trims are also made of solid pine wood and have been painted with non-toxic paint for both beauty and safety. The flooring is an engineered hardwood that's both environmentally friendly and built to last, while the exposed floor joists are made of red cedar. The shelves, stairs, and railing are all made of solid pine, adding a warm and natural touch to the tiny home's design.

Sativa Building Systems' design principles focus on creating a space that's both beautiful and functional, while also being strong, safe, and sustainable. Their commitment to sustainability includes using materials that are free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to maintain a healthy living environment. Additionally, their designs prioritize functionality to ensure maximum use of space while maintaining a stylish and modern aesthetic. By incorporating all of these principles, Sativa Building Systems creates tiny homes that are both visually stunning and designed to last.
