The Clever S Stay is a compact yet spacious cabin built on a 10-by-24-foot trailer, combining practical design with modern comfort. Every element of the home is carefully planned to provide guests with everything they need, without excess. Designed for short-term rental or weekend escapes, it offers a bright, open interior that feels larger than its footprint.
The bedroom is centered around a queen- or king-sized bed, leaving plenty of room for guests to move around. A built-in closet provides space for hanging clothes and storing folded items, making it convenient for short stays or longer visits. Adjacent to the bed, a small lounge area with a sofa defines a separate space for relaxing, reading, or enjoying a morning coffee. A window-side built-in desk adds flexibility, functioning as a workspace, dining area, or casual spot to sit and take in the view.
The bathroom is designed for comfort and efficiency. A glass-enclosed walk-in shower provides a clean, modern touch, while a standard flushable toilet and vanity with quartzite countertop offer all the basic amenities. An LED mirror conceals a built-in medicine cabinet, keeping personal items organized without cluttering the space.
The cabin is built to the International Residential Code (IRC) and is RV-certified (ANSI 119.5). Advanced wood framing supports a vaulted ceiling with a full-length center beam and a vented rainscreen for durability and airflow. Engineered to withstand hurricane-force winds up to 140 mph, the exterior features fiber cement boards and composite siding panels topped with a standing seam metal roof insulated for long-term weather resistance.
The trailer underbelly contains fully integrated plumbing, sealed with polypropylene panels to protect against moisture and pests. Every detail of the structure is designed for longevity and low maintenance.
Fresh water is delivered through PEX-A piping, and wastewater runs through enclosed ABS piping. A high-efficiency Rinnai tankless propane water heater can handle simultaneous use for showering, washing, and laundry. A 9,000 BTU Wi-Fi-enabled mini-split heat pump provides heating and cooling, supported by a heat recovery ventilator and exhaust fans to maintain air quality. Insulation throughout the floor, walls, and roof ensures a well-regulated interior, keeping it comfortable in a wide range of climates.
Inside, low-VOC paint covers reinforced drywall, and wood plank ceilings paired with waterproof luxury vinyl plank flooring create a clean, practical look. Pocket doors maximize space and provide privacy, while large double-pane windows allow natural light to fill the space, making the interior feel open and airy.
The cabin can be outfitted with solar panels, a hybrid inverter, and a battery system for off-grid capability. Guests can also choose composting or dry flush toilets and heated floors for additional comfort. Optional window shades provide privacy while maintaining light and openness, supporting flexible living in different locations.
There’s a lot to notice about the Clever S Stay. Having a main floor bedroom makes the layout feel practical and flexible. The mix of bright, open walls with warm wood accents and clean finishes gives the space a simple, modern feel. The built-in closet and window-side desk are thoughtful touches, making the space functional without feeling cramped. It’s not flashy, but it works.
